The pain-the shock
The total loss
They’ve gone away

No reason why
No last good-bye
A final breath
Their laid to rest
The fear-the grief
The disbelief
What do we do
When it’s love we loose
In each tear drop
Are honors due
The love they gave
Still lives in you
It’s in our heart
That special place
We keep the love
With peace and grace

How do we mourn?
We are so torn!
The pain will stay
Forever I say
I cannot eat
I do not sleep
Within this day
It’s hard to pray
Where can I get
A moments rest
I’ll focus on
Each shallow breath
This pain I know
I must get through
Moment to moment
Is what I’ll do
If someone died
And no one cried
What a sad reflection
On their life
I may not see you
Day to day
But in my heart

Suicide why
How dare you die
You care so much
That’s why you cry
Think for a moment
The opposites true
If you did not care
You wouldn’t be blue
Those who are heartless
Mean and cruel
Would never consider
This a tool
It seems so much
A selfish act
Or is it just
A selfless fact
So very unbalanced
Perfectly planned
Won’t you reach out
For just one hand
If not for yourself
For some-one else
Who would it be
To see such a deed
If life has landed
Such a blow
Please choose another
Person to show
Find ONE that cares
Someone like you
Together you’ll know
Just what to do
Someone is lonely
Another in need
Many are waiting
They desperately weep

A flicker of light
Helping another
Win this fight

Sometimes my eyes
They seem to stray

Like a video
That’s moves too quick
If you stay still
My eyes will fix
Although my world
Is new to you
I am inside
Please follow through
It will take time
The way I grow

I stayed at home
It’s there I lived
Where I have grown
My family close
My people near
All I have learned
Is what I hear
When Christmas came
Each year to me
Daddy put up
Our purple tree
I never questioned
Never asked
I knew this tree
From Christmas past
A purple tree
Is what I see
I only know
What I have been shown
Then I met you
You showed to me
The most unusual Christmas tree
It took some time
For me to see
A different way’
New shades of green
So please be patient
Do not be mean
The purple tree
Is all I have seen?
